What is Red Light Therapy (RLT)?
Red Light Therapy (RLT) is a non-invasive treatment that uses low-level wavelengths of red or near-infrared light to promote healing, reduce inflammation and enhance cellular function. It is often referred to as low-level laser therapy (LLLT).
How It Works:
Red light penetrates the skin to reach cells and tissues, stimulating mitochondria, the powerhouses of cells. This process increases energy production (in the form of ATP) which can accelerate repair, reduce inflammation and improve overall cell performance.
Benefits:
- Skin Health: Reducing wrinkles, scars and acne by boosting collagen production and improving skin elasticity
- Pain Relief: Alleviating joint pain, muscle soreness and inflammation, particularly with conditions like arthritis
- Wound Healing: Accelerating the recovery of cuts, burns or other skin injuries
- Hair Growth: Treating hair loss by stimulating hair follicles
- Mood & Sleep: Supporting mental health and circadian rythems, as exposure to red light may help regulate melatonin production
