What is Colonic Hydrotherapy?
Colonic Hydrotherapy, also known as colon cleansing or colonic irrigation, is a therapeutic procedure aimed at detoxifying the colon (large intestine) by flushing it with warm, sterile water. The treatment is often used to promote digestive health, relieve symptoms of constipation and enhance overall wellbeing.
How It Works:
- Preparation: The client lies comfortably on a treatment table and a small sterile tube is gently inserted into the rectum
- Water Infusion: Warm, sterile water introduced into the colon through the tube, softening and loosening waste material
- Release: Waste, along with water is expelled through the system in a closed-loop process, ensuring hygiene and minimal discomfort
- Repetition: The process may be repeated several times during the session, often lasting 30-60 minutes
Benefits:
- Digestive Health: Relieves constipation and bloating and promoted regular bowel movements
- Detoxification: Removes toxins, undigested food and accumulated waste matter from the colon
- Enhanced Energy: Feelings of lightness and increased energy after a session
- Skin and Immunity: Improves skin clarity and immune system function by reducing the toxic load on the body
- Weight Management: May contribute to temporary weight loss due to water and waste elimination
Common Uses:
- To relieve chronic constipation or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
- As part of a detox or cleaning programme
- Preparation for medical procedures like colonoscopy
