What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a complimentary medical practice based on the principle of “like cures like”, which suggests that a substance causing symptoms in a healthy person can be used in very small amounts to treat similar symptoms in an ill person. Homeopathy focuses on stimulating the body’s self-healing abilities.
Key Principles
- Law of Similars: The idea that substances causing symptoms in healthy individuals can treat those same symptoms in sick individuals.
- Minimal Doses: Remedies are prepared through a process of serial dilution and succession (vigorous shaking), often to the point where little or no trace of the original substance remains.
- Individualised Treatment: Each patient is treated as unique, with remedies selected based on thier specific symptoms, emotional state and overall constitution.
Common Uses:
Homeopathy is used for a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to:
- Allergies and Asthma
- Digestive issues
- Stress, Anxiety and Insomnia
- Chronic pain, such as Arthritis and Migraines
- Skin conditions like Eczema or Psoriasis
Remedies:
Homeopathic remedies are derived from natural substances, including plants, minerals and some animal products. They are available in various forms such as pellets, tablets and liquids and are categorised by thier potency (degree of dilution).
